As keepers, it is not only our job, but our passion to learn as much as we can about animals. We are chock full of fascinating, fun, and sometimes totally useless animal facts. We are so focused on learning and the truth that we often forget about many widely excepted “false truths” about the animal world, until they are brought up to us by other people. Summer Heat

Summer is in full force here in Mississippi.  Not only does this mean it is hot for the people at the zoo, but for the animals as well.  Luckily, all of the animals here at the Hattiesburg Zoo can handle warmer climates.  That is why we don’t have any polar bears or snow leopards at the zoo, they would have a hard time handling this summer heat.
