Hattiesburg -- As you may have heard, our Jaguar got out of his primary holding area and into his secondary containment area (which is back-of-house and inaccessible to the public) this morning. This occurred before the Zoo opened, so no guests were in the Zoo. As part of protocol, which ensures the most precautionary safety measures are taken, Zoo staff contacted the Hattiesburg Police Department. Shortly after securing the perimeter areas, the jaguar was safely returned to his holding area where he will be resting for the remainder of the day. He will be back on exhibit tomorrow.
