Educational Programs at the Hattiesburg Zoo

Adopt an Animal
If you want to be a monkey's uncle, then join our Adopt an Animal program! When you adopt, donations go directly towards caring for your "wild child." Just like a real parent, you'll be able to watch your child grow, learn and play with each visit to the Zoo. Click for more information
Keeper Chats
Every day at Hattiesburg Zoo offers a chance for edZOOcation! When you enter the gate, be sure to ask about the day's keeper chats and animal encounters. These are always FREE with admission.
Field Trip Classes
Designed to interest and inform all ages, from animal coverings and adaptations, to skeletal systems and the ecosystem, there is something fun for everyone. Classes are aligned with the Mississippi Science Curriculum for all levels from kindergarden to 12th grade.
Summer Camps
Various camps are offered year-round at the Hattiesburg Zoo. These include one-day Family Camp and Christmas Camp, as well as week-long Summer Camps offered in June and July that introduce kids ages 5-13 to the wonders of the animal world and ways we can help our planet.
Birthday Party Animal Encounters
When you book a birthday party at the Zoo, be sure to add animals to the guest list! The kids will love 20 or 30 minute private animal encounters in the EdZOOcation Center with two or three of our cute critters!
Overnights
See what those party animals do after hours! Overnights include an after-dark train ride, movie and more!
Zoo Tots
Designed to introduce children ages 2 to 5 to the exiciting world of animals. Stories, games, crafts and animal encounters make classes fun and teach skills including counting, sorting, matching and colors.
